Café Hopper Bility
Café Hopper Bility provides open employment opportunities for people with disabilities, enabling meaningful and equitable employment in the lives of people with disabilities. We believe in creating a sense of purpose in their everyday lives through inclusion and equality.
Café Hopper Bility wants to change the landscape and change the social stigma of employment pathways for people with disabilities and the financial government support associated with employment. Our slogan depicted as “Coffee with a Purpose”, to enable and promote equal and open employment for people with disabilities as baristas, café staff or serving and welcoming customers, and café baking such as biscuits and cakes.
The Café is located in Kent Town and has been operating since December 2024.
The café currently has 5 employees with 1 supervisor. The majority of the staff have been with the café since it opened.
Our aim is to:
- Provide quality coffee to customers
- Create positive education for the customers in providing meaningful employment to people with disabilities
- Provide a relaxing and enjoyable environment away from the office wanting them to come back again and again
- Provide meaningful employment to people living with a disability to have supported employment paid at the award rates.
- Establish a customer-focused relationship where the barista remembers the customer and is always greeted with a smile by staff
- The customer is valued for every coffee they purchase
Majority of our biscuits and cakes are baked in-house under the guidance from our Café Supervisor/Chef.
All staff have a good understanding of food allergies and able to make delicious gluten free and vegan food, just need to let us know what you would like!
